My name is Sarah. I’m 33 years old and live in Bristol on the beautiful harbour with my gorgeous boyfriend, Matt, and our black lab – Jackson.

After having a few problems with my nipple, and lots of prodding, poking and surgery, I was diagnosed with stage 1, grade 3 breast cancer. It was ER+, PR+ and HER2+, so a rather aggressive and nasty type. Fortunately for me, it manifested as Paget’s disease of the nipple and DCIS and was caught early with no sign of it travelling to my lymph nodes.

I have had two surgeries, including a mastectomy and reconstruction, using muscle and tissue from my upper back. And I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. I have had amazing support from my loved ones, friends and strangers. Having joined the Younger Breast Cancer Network, I have formed some great friendships with other young women who are also going through treatment and fighting this horrible cancer.
