End of Chemo

Hi friends!

I hope the new year is going well for all of you. Many people are glad to see the back of 2016, me included. I realise I’ve not posted for a while. They are right when they say that chemotherapy is cumulative. I did struggle with the last two, it took me longer to bounce back from them every time.

A few people have been wondering why I’ve been so quiet…I’m alive – I’ve just been feeling tired and poorly. As far as I’m aware, the cancer is gone. I’m seeing my oncologist next week to determine next steps and no doubt schedule more testing – and finally – get this horrible port cut out of my chest!

In 2017, I’m hoping to get some balance back into my life. In March, I’m going back to work, so that’s the start of feeling normal again. However, I will still be visiting the hospital every 3 weeks for those bastard Herceptin injections. I’ve also got to have regular checkups, and hormone therapy (Tamoxifen) for 5 years.

The tiredness will haunt me for a while, but I am going to build my strength back up gradually. I intend to start walking and jogging in Feb/March, and take up yoga again on the harbourside when the new Wapping Wharf studio opens. (Right on my doorstep!) Hopefully by the summer, I’ll be running again and fitting back into my size 10’s.

As for my blog…thank you all for reading. I couldn’t have got through those all those tough times without all your encouragement and kindness. I intend to start a fresh, new lifestyle blog where I can write about more positive stuff that you might find interesting. I will be including all the things that are helping me get fit and healthy, tracking my progress to lose weight and get into shape, and make the most of my new hair and skin. (It’s like baby skin at the moment, so I am planning on keeping it fresh and hydrated!) But mostly, it will about quaintrelle-living.

If there’s anything you think I should write about, please let me know in the comments.

I’ll be back soon! 🙂
